![]() ![]() 40 caliber pistol is - with some exception - restricted to United States deployment. 40 also delivers more felt recoil and has a slightly higher recoil velocity.Īnother difference is that the 9mm round is in pistols around the globe. 40 caliber will be a little slower in velocity. 40 caliber cartridge typically sports a heavier bullet with loads between from 135 to 180 grain, compared to between 115 and 147 grain for the 9mm. The two cartridges have some substantially different characteristics. 40 has definitely gained traction, but the 9mm remains far more commonly used. 40 design was to take a parent of the FBI’s 10mm load, shorten the case and enable a larger round in existing 9mm designs without having to make significant modifications to the frame. Georg Luger designed the 9mm in 1901, releasing it to the market about a year later. Differing historyįor starters, the 9mm is a far older design. ![]() Which is better? What differences are there? What are the similarities? Is this a tectonic shift or simply another chapter in the rivalry? Here are some thoughts. So, the debate rages on, and questions continue to be asked (and answered) by proponents of each. Meanwhile, in the past couple of decades, police departments across the country have departed from the 9mm, electing instead to move to the slightly larger. The new sidearms will replace the venerable Beretta M9, a 9×19mm Parabellum pistol. This attack is heavily telegraphed, so react to Thor's movements and evade or parry the incoming punch. Thor rears his left arm back before lunging forward to punch Kratos, following his attack with a sturdy kick. These will also leave small lightning fields where they hit so watch where you're going (or dodging)! Thor Attack Patterns (First Encounter) First Phase Punch and Kick Combo Depending on the difficulty, this will quickly drain your health so don't get caught off guard! Lightning Strikes Continuously on Third Phaseĭuring the third and final phase, lightning will continuosly strike randomly in the arena. When Thor is down to about a third of his health, there will be a quick time event where you need to mash the circle button. Prepare to Mash Circle Before the Third Phase Every time he does this, be prepared to dodge at the end as it is always followed by an unblockable Mjolnir attack. Thor Moves Faster While ElectrifiedĪt the start of the second phase, Thor will be electrified and will start using Mjolnir to quickly move sideways. When the rings appear, quickly run at him and perform a Shield Strike to interrupt this attack. Thor also has a double blue ring attack where he charges up and releases an unblockable shockwave across the entire arena, dealing heavy damage. If you got caught, just quickly spam L1! His tackle-grab won't give you this kind of luxury, though, so dodge to the sides when you see him charging at you with a red ring! Interrupt His Shockwave Attack You can avoid damage from Thor's short-ranged grab by pressing L1 after the on-screen prompt. If you're using the Dauntless Shield, you can also use its Shield Strike to interrupt any attack after a parry! Quickly Press L1 When You're Grabbed Parrying Thor's barehand and hammer combos as soon as you can allows you to stop them abruptly and inflict Stun damage. Memorize the timing of Thor's attacks and time your dodges/parries right. He also has block-breaking attacks (yellow ring) that you can parry so simply blocking won't get you far. Most of Thor's attacks are unblockable (red ring) so prepare to dodge a lot during the entire fight. Lightning strikes continuously on third phase Second Encounter Thor (Second Encounter) Tips and Strategies In addition, running toward Thor has a high chance of baiting out one of his yellow ring attacks, providing you with an easy parry. Thor tends to disengage or counterattack after getting hit two to three times, so prepare to dodge, block, or parry any incoming attacks after taking advantage of an opening. However, since it's a resource-based ability, try to save it for low-health situations or when close to finishing off one of Thor's phases. Spartan Rage is an incredibly potent ability when fighting against Thor, as it inflicts massive damage and restores Kratos' health with every hit. Remember to Imbue your Leviathan Axe with Frost Awaken throughout the fight against Thor to improve your damage output and make it easier to build up his stun meter. Doing this provides you with healing and a window of opportunity to deal plenty of damage toward the God of Lightning. Remember that you can stagger Thor by triggering Healthstones while being right next to him. While Thor mainly swaps to his fists when his hammer isn't in its sheath, remain cautious while fighting him as the God of Lightning can still surprise you with sudden grabs and unblockable ground pounds. Starting from the second phase, Thor starts switching between fist and hammer attacks throughout the fight. Thor Swaps Between Fist and Hammer Attacks However, try to keep Thor away from the pillars as he can destroy them if the structures end up in his attacks' path. Remember to use the pillars around the second phase's arena, as they act as one-time weapons that deal heavy damage to Thor and knock him backward. Parrying Thor's normal and yellow ring attacks in this phase also quickly fills up his stun bar, letting you reach his second phase faster. Prioritize parrying Thor's attacks in this phase until you wear him down enough to retrieve your Leviathan Axe. ![]() At the start of Thor's first phase, Kratos cannot use any of his weapons, only relying on his fists and Guardian Shield. ![]() ![]() By default, History lists are named with the performance date but can be renamed as desired. Creating long sequences relies on moving in both directions for rank. Since you can’t see the rank of the cards in the tableau until they become available, try to make turning over a new stockpile card a last resort. You only get to cycle through the 24-card stockpile once, so passing up a crucial card can make a difference. Tripeaks may look simple, but it can be a challenge to ensure you clear the tableau, especially since you can’t see all of the cards dealt, but these strategies help get you closer to a win: You have to play the tableau as it’s dealt without moving or storing cards. ![]() Although you may want to save a card from the waste pile to use later, you can’t backfill gaps left behind after you pair cards. The only moves you can make are pairing cards from the tableau with waste pile cards. Unlike Klondike Solitaire, this game doesn’t involve building sequences in the tableau or in foundation piles. However, you can only cycle through the stockpile once or else the game is over. If you can’t pair the top card from the waste pile with a card on the tableau, you can flip over the next stockpile card to reveal a new waste pile card. Not every waste pile card results in a pairing. You can only go through the stockpile once.Available cards are not overlapped by other cards, and available cards, once revealed, can be turned face-up and be played. Not all the cards are face-up or available for play. You can only use cards that are available and face-up.The tableau card you pair then becomes the top card of the waste pile. For example, if a ten of hearts is the top card of the waste pile, you can pair it with either a nine of any suit or a jack of any suit in the tableau. You can only pair the top waste pile card with tableau cards that are one rank higher or lower. If you run out of moves, you can turn over another card from the stockpile and use it for pairing. When you pair a card from the tableau, the tableau cards become the new top card of the waste pile, the one that needs to be paired next. You pair a card from the tableau with this waste pile card that is one rank higher or lower. The waste pile: The first card you flip from the stockpile becomes your first face-up waste pile card. You can only pass through the stockpile once during the game. You flip cards over into the stockpile one card at a time. The stockpile: The remaining 24 cards are placed facedown in a pile at the bottom of the tableau. You must clear the entire tableau, not the stockpile, to win the game. The fourth and last row of all three pyramids is a shared row of 10 face-up cards. Set up like three smaller pyramids, the first three rows of facedown cards overlap cards in the previous row. The tableau: The main area of play looks similar to Pyramid Solitaire and uses 28 cards.Tripeaks Solitaire has three basic piles or that you use to play the game: Color and suit doesn’t matter-you can pair cards of both the same color or opposite colors.
